Riverside
Riverside, named after being next to the Santa Ana River founded in the 1870’s, is about 81 square miles, sixty miles east of Los Angeles, and has become known as the City of Arts and Innovation. It is home to the historic Mission Inn, the largest Mission Revival-style building in the United States, has had many affluent guests through the years that includes presidents, film stars and royalty. Riverside is also the birthplace of the citrus industry as can be seen at the California Citrus State Historic Park. The Fox Performing Arts Theater downtown is an elegant 1929 theater that held the first public screening of Gone with the Wind. It is also home to the Riverside National Cemetery, colleges such as University of California, Riverside, Cal Baptist University along with numerous museums, eateries, golf courses, hiking trails and shopping that make Riverside the ideal spot to live. The city is divided into 28 designated neighborhoods, each with its own flair such as the Wood Streets, Downtown, Canyon Crest, Orangecrest and Hawarden Hills to name a few. The homes range from historic homes to new builds in either the downtown or the suburban setting on varied types of terrain.
